Diagnosing my e46 power seat malfunction

My 325ci passenger seat does not go forward or reverse but up & down & recline work fine. My mechanic hooked up a power source and was able to move it forward to make footroom in back. He used the switch on seat to do this which would have been my first guess, with power source. Can it be the module as the motor and switch worked with power source?

If the seats work when providing power to the connector then it could be the module, might come thru the gm module

The seats are not controlled via the GM5 module. It’s likely item #4 in https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=52_2491
