    Engine hesitation issue 2010 535

    2010 535 3.0

I am getting a hesitation on low acceleration. It feels just like a misfire. It only happens on soft acceleration between say 1500 - 2000 RPMs. I can watch the tach jump around between 1500-1800, it will be at 1800, then feel what I can only explain as a misfire, drops to 1500, back to 1700, back to 1500 until I get up to speed which then it runs fine.

Wide open throttle works fine, pulls hard, gets up to speed quickly, no issues, feels great.

From a stop or low speed, when around 1500 - 1800 it stumbles like it has a msifire.

No codes, ECU is clean on all modules, MAF is reporting within range, fuel pressure is reporting fine as well. I can't seem to log any misfire codes, my scanner doesn't have the functionality to monitor misfires.

Brand new OEM spark plugs installed but still have the same issue.

O2 Readings seem to be fine as well.

    Any ideas?

    I appreciate your feedback.

Carbon build up in the intake ports?

And check the usual suspects, fouled plugs from leaky injectors, and coils (since you already did plugs).

Start with a code scan, may be something pending. Coils are a pretty common suspect. Carbon around the throttle and intake too. Might try to clean the throttle.

No Codes, brand new OEM Plugs. Happens in all gears, auto or manual. Feels like I am losing power. Going to check the throttle body and perform an adaption next.

I'd clean the the TB. Then with the engine off, I'd move the throttle plate through it's full motion by hand. Try to see if there are any rough spots where it hangs up and doesn't move freely. Then test drive it.

I'm leaning on the possibility that it is the throttle body, either dirty, debris on the electronic portion of the unit. I did a TB Adaption and Transmission relearn and this didn't make any difference. Cleared learned value and saved, no change.
