    Window Regulator Testing

    Howdy fellow 8ers,

I haven’t been on here in a hot minute, and am currently working on getting my car out of long term storage. I am having some gremlins plaguing the car (go figure) the most of which is the windows will not droop or roll down. The drivers side door is open, so I tried the following:

    1) “new” driver side door module (TM1)
    2) renewed GM capacitors
    3) even newer batteries (09/20 build sticker)
    3) checked all fuses
    4) removed all signs of aftermarket alarm

The sunroof has intermittently worked and will open and close with the key in the door switch or based on the interior button (except now the mechanism seems to have given up). The MDC gives misc tail light faults, but otherwise works as expected (I believe the trunk wiring loom needs attention) The consumer power relay triggers as expected at 16min. None of the windows go down using either the driver side or passenger side window switches.

So here’s my question, how can I apply 12v to the window motors to test their function? I doubt all four have gone bad at once, but I’d like to rule it out before loading the parts cannon. When pressing the window button, I do hear a relay click in the back power distribution box. I’d really appreciate any and all thoughts on this, as the car is running well, but this non-drooping windows thing is stopping me from actually closing the door and driving off.

if all the windows are not working, I'd look at the two consumer protection relays in the trunk first.
    But, to answer your question....
Relay Module A1 is in the door sill on the (left) side. The sill trim needs to come off and the carpet peeled a bit.

Connector #X258 is the plug into that.
    Left Rear window - #19 blue/grey & #14 black/green
    Rght Rear window - #17 blue/violet & #20 black/violet
    Rght Front Window - #15 blue/yellow & #18 black/white
    Left Front window - #10 blue/red & #16 black/red

Dependent on polarity, if you supply power/ground to any of those pairs, the motors will go.

@Cartoonz, that is excellent info on the pin out. I may use that to just roll the windows down in the meantime.

I actually just arrived at a similar conclusion of the RM1 module after reading the wiring diagrams. Lo and behold the plugs for the RM1 and the actual module look like they were dunked. Next stop is either fixing this module or finding a good replacement. If anyone has one, please let me know.
