Questions about upgrading headlights on an 1994 740il e32

I've been thinking about changing my stock headlights to LED's but I would also like halos so I found this on ebay and I would appreciate some feed back or suggestions. And I know some people have problems when it comes to installing LED's and I don't know if it will even be a good idea. Any comments will be really helpful, thanks.

You should be good to go! I converted my e32 to LEDs without any issues. Also did my fog lights, side markers and turn signals. The LEDs will work no matter what but you will need to wire in a load equalizer to avoid any dashboard warnings.

I would however avoid HID conversions. On top of being difficult to diagnose they can be dangerous. I purchased an e34 with aftermarket HID's. They were improperly installed and caused quite a large fire.

    Good luck!

I changed mine to LED first-thing and I love how they perform. You’ll need high-quality LED 9006 bulbs with a minimum 10k lumen per bulb or else they’ll be too dim for the projector housing (I had to order brighter ones after my first attempt with 6k lumen bulbs)

these are what I’m using now:

and you’ll also need a ballast/resistor unless you can live with the bulb-out warning (I couldn’t). Don’t use the spliced-in 25-50ohm resistors. I made that mistake and regret it. They get wicked hot and you’ll find there is nowhere suitable to mount them (+ tons of plastic that WILL melt if the resistors touch) I went with these after re-splicing the original
wires back to how they should be: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DLVJCSL...p_mob_ap_share

^those are plug & play, plus they stay cold/get barely warm.

EDIT: just checked your eBay link and I see that you are contemplating replacing the entire headlight units. Don’t. Take it from the guy who was once a stupid 16year-old and spent $300 on aftermarket halo headlights with HIDs - I realize now that you’ll achieve more in terms of road visibility if you just swap the bulbs to LED in the original housings. Granted, to play devil’s advocate, I don’t have any experience with the exact product you linked. They LOOK nice, but I fear the low
price tag reveals some (bad) into about the build quality. Just my 2 cents...

Thanks, yeah Im kinda skepticle on changing the headlights, I might just blacken the the shell but get quality LEDs to compensate for the loss of reflection. Thanks again, both of you.
