Hey everyone,
I'm looking to purchase an Alpina B7 E65 which seems to have the absolutely famous issue with the N62 engine where the seals fail. I'm not shy from tearing the top part of the engine (and this will be a second car so it can sit, and it won't be a daily driver) to fix this. Other than that, what are the big ticket items I should look for when inspecting the vehicle or worry about with DIY? I'm fairly okay with engines but suspensions are not my strong suit, and I don't have any kind of lifts, just jack stands, so under body work is typically difficult for me. It's under 100k miles so it isn't crazy old on the mileage
Other than the supercharger (which often leak oil into the intake manifold = smoke) these cars are just an E65 from a maintenance and typical issues standpoint. Suspension work is not difficult and easily accomplished with jack stands.
All the typical issues are covered in length on this forum. If the car is in good shape and has been looked after I would not hesitate.
