Fuel line replacement - stock hard lines or rubber?

The fuel lines on my E36 are corroded.
Do folks usually replace these with OEM steel lines (feed and return) or use rubber lines instead?

    It's for a S54 swap track car.

I ran 3/8” stainless steel hard lines front to back for both the feed and return.

Brad, I see only about 5-6’ of hard line plus another 2’ on top of the tank. Did you custom bend to have more than the stock length of hardline or did you convert back and forth to braided steel? For soft line, did you use Teflon lined or rubber lined? What did you use for fitting coming through the pump hanger assembly at the top of the tank? Bulkhead? This project is coming up on my list.
