Auto trans is slush crap when cold

What the hell gives with this trans being absolute garbage when its below 60f?
    03 325i.
Trans has always been garbage when its freshly started in cold temps. Fluids full too.
Nobody would recertify these machines after somebody screwed with them without any visibility into what they did.

HONK! HONK! Clown car coming through!

When was the last fluid change? How many miles do you have now?

I know it has been said but.... confirm proper level of fluid. Cheapest solution.

It's full. Filled with universal red trans dex3 or whatever. Fluid runs out when I open the fill plug. I don't think it's the software because the revs will bounce as if the trans is slipping, like the car hasn't gotten up to speed to make the shift.

The trans has done it since I got the car at 101k. Now has 165k.

Last winter one of the trans lines split. Ran out of fluid managed to limp it home after it wouldn't shift. So the fluid isn't old.

Did you follow the correct fill procedure for the Transmission fluid.
    - Car level on jack stands or lift.
    - engine running
    - fluid between 30 to 50 degrees C
    - fill to overflowing

If the engine was not running, then you will be low on fluid.

There is only one thing more pleasurable than working on a Z3, that's driving it top down on a fine day.

So.. I'm putting in new trans lines after finding the quick connect is probably leaking. What's the easiest way to get them over the rack? I can just cut the old ones out.
