Hello All,
My first post but good god this problem has been a persistent one. Can anyone tell me what the noise is from my 2005 318ci coupe when accelerating!? Link to video below:
Excuse me - you'll have to delete the spaces:

1) It's not a vacuum leak, had that checked
2) Only happens when under load (accelerating), doesn't happen when in neutral/clutch depressed
3) Sounds like it's coming from the central air vents/behind glovebox
Can anyone help!? It's driving me insane...
Thank you in advance!

I presume you mean the buzzing. Can you open the hood and replicate with someone praising the accelerator?
Absolutely, it's the buzzing. It doesn't happen when still, only when the car is accelerating... it's really odd
That is interesting information - if the buzzing doesn’t happen when you rev the engine at rest, is the frequency of the sound related to speed or rpm?
No, not related to speed or RPM, just when accelerating and is one constant pitch, it just gets louder as you get through the rev range. It's doing my head in but nobody seems to know what the cause could be!
