Can’t lower the seat further - disappointed

I have a new to me 03 cab and I feel my eye line is damn close to the top of the windshield.

I thought the seat wasn’t lowering properly but it does.

I hoped to replace the seat but found out the cabrio is specific because of the seatbelt attachment!

I checked if seat adjustment mechanisms could be gutted and the seat somehow lowered more when fixed but nope...

As a last resort I went to a good upholstery shop and had them remove the seat cushion which was super hard and replace it with a thinner and softer one. $500 later... Almost the same deal. Very disappointing. I am a tad lower but now my hips catch on the bolsters, so unless you were to completely reshape the seat it's not the way to go. They did mention the leather is very hard so maybe it’ll stretch over time now that the hard foam is gone. Wondering if anyone else found a silver bullet :-)

How tall are you? I am at 5'10 and have to have the seat up a little bit and I still have 5-6 inches of room above my head. Would be worth taking the seat all the way up, and then down to make sure there isn't anything in the path of the seat, and nothing is under the seat.

Yeah im 6'2" and keep the seat as low as possible in the rear and up a little in the front (kind of like a bucket seat) but i have no issues with the eye level. But im sitting in what looks like check mark.

"Check mark", I see what you mean, I do too... I will say that over the past week or so, the leather has softened a bit adapting to the lower & softer cushion. It's a bit better. When I get in the car I'm initially annoyed at seating too high vs my other cars, but once I start driving I can now forget about it because I'm 1/2" lower which "just" takes my eyes low enough to forget the top of the windshield frame - just... It's still high vs what I'd like but not on my mind anymore. I should have had the side bolsters done as well in truth... I'd recommend that to the tall folks on top of the cushion... Guess I can focus on de-squeaking the car now ;-)

I'm 6'5" and am OK in my 04 vert. Make sure the rear actually is going down all the way.

Not sure that compares... At 6'5" you are probably moving your seat way further back than I am, with your long arm and legs ;-) that provides a different view... My head is closer to the top of the windshield than yours likely is ;-) But anyway, I'm happier now, the leather has softened a bit and the shaved seat pad has provided enough give by now, also the side bolsters "adjusted" to my lower butt and made room for my hips after all, so it's ok ;-) I recommend the seat shaving is required in the end.
