1989 M3 starter

I need to know can I install a 1989 M3 starter on my 1974 M10 engine. And are there any difference on the wire hookup. If wiring has to be changed, can any one tell me how to do it.

Wiring should be the same as m10. There's three ring terminals all different sizes. Smaller lighter higher torque motor.
