Did everyone have to use their Hazard last month? Never had such a problem finding one, non in the USA, had to order one from the mother land!
Murray
Purchased one on ebay from quality seller in April it didn't work, never got a refund, it causes a turn signal fuse to blow on the right side intermittently. I had to rig mine like it has been for years however I have a functioning electrical system minus the Hazards. Lol
Think that will have to be my solution too, pelican parts says they can get them from Germany but two attempts in purchasing them just results in a refund two days later.
Last time I looked the eBay sellers are sold out. Maybe contacting a vender in Europe would be the next option but at $127 just for the part that will only last a couple of years at best gets really old quick!
Murray
Pelican Parts does not have access to BMW Group Network, FCP Euro is hooked up to a BMW Dealership, I believe in Pennsylvania .

Thanks Randy, Just found a genuine BMW one at Bummer World for $96 and ordered it, hopefully that won't be a dead end. If it doesn't I'll go to Fcp Euro.
Murray
Bimmerworld just emailed me this morning, saying that it's on back order until Mid 2021, do I want to proceed. Time to try Fcp Euro.
Murray
They are on back order there too. Latvia sale is Genuine BMW - 1 in stock .

Got the last one, thank you!
Murray
I was looking for one as well and reached out to my buddy in the parts department at the local BMW dealership. According to the mothership. There isn't supposed to be any stock until 04/21.

BAV Power Flow Kit,Accel Ignition Coil and Wires,Bistein Sports with H&R's, Hayden Electric Fan, 15" BBS and a heavy right foot
2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road 6MT trans
2012 BMW R1200GS Adventure (Dalton HWY Survivor) Touratech Explorer rear shock, garmin 590, Rock Fox gaurds, GlobeScout Panniers, BMW top box
The hazard I'm replacing was a BMW hazard, it was a couple of years old and was used only once and that's all it took, two weeks later it pops out of the dash and wont stay pushed in.
I would say from the number of hazards I have bought over the years, it doesn't make any difference if you buy the BMW or the Aftermaket one.
As God as my witnesse, I will not buy another hazard switch, the next time I'm going to jumper it like 82kashmir.
Murray
Maybe it’s time for someone to make a transistorized modern replacement that isn’t spring loaded
-John
Excellent idea!! But what would be the fun in that??
if anyone needs an early hazard, I think I have 2 or 3 lying around that I rebuilt.
Hopefully they will be back in stock very soon.
Randy
It's probably all my fault. I made 3 different attempts to acquire a working hazard switch. The first canceled my order. As did the second. The third supposedly shipped it to the wrong coast and then refunded me? I give up trying on eBay but if any of yall wanna sell me on I'd be happy to pay pal ya.
I3MW, Your having the same problem with your later model BMW? (Picture in your post)
Latvia surprise me today sending an eBay message that as soon as he receives one he will ship it out, which won't be until mid 2021. I replied that's not what your ad said, I was under the impression I bought the last one you had in stock.
An 1/2 hour later I get the refund for the order and the refund for extra twenty bucks for the FedEx he recommended to get it quicker.
4 attempts and 4 refunds later I say it's official for me, there are zero E21 hazard switches till mid 2021.

I might have one or two sitting around I think, no idea about the condition.
-John
Wow all these cancellations , I had no idea BMW , MTC ect was so far behind with this switch.
Randy
Thanks Somjuan, would they work for a late model E21? How much would would you sell one for?
The car is at an a/c shop getting a new compressor and some new hoses made up now, may not see it for a while. I pretty much decided when I get it back I would try the hazard fix that has been talked about on this form but it would be nice to have one of yours as a back up in case I screw things up fixing the one that's in there now.
Murray
Sorry guys, the only two I have left are early model. Must have given the other ones away already
-John
I have this saved but I don't remember where I saved it from. Probably a post on this forum. Goes over replacing the hazard switch with a much more simple 6-pin rocker switch:

Update:
Finally got a hazard switch (MTC) past the order stage without them getting back to me about it being a back order with no ETA.
Ordered it from Bavarian Motor Parts yesterday and it has actually been shipped today, to arrive between May 3rd to May 18th.
Murray
i get a bunch of my parts from classic daily. dude is usually running some kind of sale and makes sure to test all parts before selling. plus its all at a pretty good price. (unrelated they are also doing some pretty cool engine swaps)

Amazon emailed, they have not billed my Visa card because Bavarian Motor Parts has not shipped the hazard switch. That's because they have been out of business since 2018. Ugh!
Back to square one!
