545i had water inside the car. I sat in the drivers seat watching the water flow into the car. The drivers seat back reclined (by itself) till touching the back seat. All other seat functions continue to work properly, all but the back rest. I push on the switch and I can hear a motor moving/spinning but no back rest motion (up or down). should I treat this issue as if it were a twisted seat issue? Thank you in advance. Respectfully Stephen
Wow! 82 folks read this question and no intelligent suggestions. That's why I joined, I thought this was a BMW Think Tank.
I'll repeat what I said on your other thread about water damage.

I am no seat expert but it sounds like a short, followed by a mechanical failure when the seat got stopped by back seat.
Time to open up the seat and look for broken gears.
