Hi all - I recently snagged a cheap Dual XPE 2700 amp for a rebuild I'm doing. It'll run 1 channel bridged at 4ohm @ 150 watts. CEA rated amp fwiw. The plan was to run a small 8" sub but have this 10" DB Drive laying around. I know if I run it hard it'll just push the amp into clipping. In your opinion just get a sub the amp can push?
Sub Spec
Max Power - 1500 Watts
Nominal Power - 750 Watts
Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coils
2" 4 Layer DVC 4 Ohm w/ Aluminum Former
Vac PP Cone with Rubber Surround
Dish Style Vac Aluminum Dome
102 oz Ferrite Magnet
Stamped Steel Frame
Black Electro-Plated Top and Bottom Plates
Fiber Mixed Spider
PVC Trim Ring/ Gasket
Heavy Gauge Spring Terminals
An amp can be damaged is several ways but while it may strain to power the sub at deafening levels it likely not to die. There are caveats such as keeping the amp cool.
I did some looking and I can wire the sub in either 2ohm or 8ohm, series/parallel. Maybe I should just get a SVC

Small update - in order to pair the AMP with something more suitable I grabbed an inexpensive loaded Infinity 12" sub. Needs far less power to push than the DB Drive.
