    ZHP 3.64 Differential

I am debating in converting my auto 325it stock differential into a 3.64 that came from an 03 ZHP. I haven't really looked into what I have but after reasearching/reading I have a 3.46. I have to find out after I have removed it. I am convinced after reading that I will get that almost 20% torque. By the way, the diff came from an auto also that's why I bought it. I'm convinced that I may have to sacrifice a mile or so mpg consumption but the trade off is worth it. What do you guys think? The 3.46 will be available after or the 3.64 will be available if I don't proceed with the conversion.

Personally I don’t see the advantage in doing it you’ll have higher rpms on the freeway so off the line quicker

It came from an auto ZHP that was hit on the front driver side that's why I picked it up. First time owner didn't say or complain about high RPMS. You may be right had it been a 5or 6 speed.

I did it with a 5 speed, an auto and a six speed. Awesome with six speed. A good upgrade for the others. Rpm at highway is a non- issue

I am in the process and in the last stage until I ran into a problem with the shaft. I tried using the ZHP shaft and it fit but it does not have a spline unlike the 325i. I will have to make a trip to a driveshaft service to have ZHP flange transferred into the 325i (cutting and welding and balanced) and shortened by about inch a a half. ZHP has 6 bolt as opposed to 325i's 4 bolt. Did you run into this scenario? Can you tell me how you did yours? Thank you!

Its a 5 percent difference. Not 20. You might feel it.

Now that it’s all done, test driven city and highway I am completely satisfied. Conversion is worth it. Remember I have an auto and the donor car was also an auto But a ZHP. For others who posted negative comments but have never done the swap and making comments based on “educated guess” you guys are wrong.
