Not sure if this is the right sub-group, but thought I would start here.
I am working on a friends M52. He mentioned swapping in S52 cams. I have driven an E36 with that swap and know how the before/after feels. However, I have a set of clean S50 cams and was wondering what the up and downsides of using them may be.
So -- input, please.
I didn’t think the solid S50 cams fit.

My recollection is late trays fit any cam but early trays fit only early cams. Early vs being 92-95 and 96-99. However, early trays can be clearanced at the front to fit late cams. I don’t have the details but a friend did it years ago and said it was minor.
Performance differences between the S50 and S52 cams, please.
Minimal if any.
