Slight bump in front tire size: Issues ?

short Q: What's the max front tire size for 19" that you can fit on the nose of an M3 cab ?

Longer Q: I've noticed my new-to-me 03 Cab has fairly new rear Pilot sports and very old front ones. Cracking old. Dangerous old. They are 225/40/19 - stock for 19".
I happen to have a set of 235/40/19 from my other car, same wear as my bimmer's rear. Transfering these on the bimmer would allow for a matching wear set to end its life more or less together... Does anyone think the small bump in size will cause issues with the fender liners or rubbing anywhere ? 1cm wider... 225 vs 235 ? Anyone tried for whatever reason ? I can't "experiment" because if I take them off the car they're on now, I'm commited to a full set of new PS4s on that car...

    Thanks !

The height is the concern as the car will recognize the difference in wheel speed/rotation.

If I read the charts correctly, the 235/40-18 are .3 taller in overall height than the stock 225/40-19. Same with width, the 235 is .3 of an inch wider....

My hunch is that you will have no issues, but it might be best to have a tech weigh in.

They will fit with no issues of rubbing if you are using factory 8 inch by 19 rims up front. What you may have to do is get the headlights adjusted, for they will be taller and even in the eyes of other drivers, and those HID's can be very bright.

So a general rule of thumb is you can always go about 10mm wider or 5% up on the side wall without issues. BMW likes to put a little bit of wiggle room in there anyway, and that will just take up the wiggle room is all.

In the end, you are adding like noted above, about .3 inch in width and height.
