    PT CAN COMM FAULT E65 06 750i

Hot day trans went into limp mode (lots of lights) park brake fault etc. etc. Autel MD 808 code reader and breakout box D98E not present DSC missing receiver AOFO not present. Checked front and rear resistors both 120 ohms. Pins 6&14 not used by BMW for OBD can bus. Can a failed module cause comm failure on entire bus? For example ABS. All I'm getting from the code reader is communication fault PT Can Bus.

Yes since the system is a net work and any thing on the net work can take it down when something has failed. For instance if the gateway module has bad very thing it feeds would be affected, also pt means power train bus

That didn't solve my problem but with over 100K on the clock it was a calculated guess. I have scope leads there and was getting a pretty poor waveshape. I'm showing yaw rate sensor variations bouncing 0.28 degrees to 0.55 degrees with the vehicle level not running. I've got a used one on the way as that doesn't seem normal to me.

I've replaced the yaw sensor no joy. I'm going to look āt transmission next as that sems to be the start of the problems. If I disconnect the trānsmission from the rest of the can bus the rest of them ßhould be able to communicate IF that is the problem.
Been down due to an āuto aįci
dent. Will update when I can.

Where exactly is the rear 120 ohms resistor located at, I've removed the bottom rear seat cushion and I don't see it? I've only found the front one in front of the right side wheel.
