    E60 dtc p0741

I need to get my car inspected, but wont pass because I am getting P0741 and P0700 Codes.

Have you guys gotten these codes?

    What was the problem?

(I did search the forum, but the search came up empty)

Hi, I'm surprised no one answered yet. Usually p0700 is a transmission code. This could be a shorted wire or a solenoid inside the transmission has failed.
The p0741 means there is a problem with the torque converter But it could also come up because of an internal transmission failure like a solenoid. Either way, a BMW transmission specialist is the best route for this. You probably found a solution by now but if not, hopefully this points you in the right direction.

Usually torque converter function is the first to go when a transmission is worn out. Clutches can no longer hold, and or pressure can't be kept up to hold the clutch applied. The TC takes a lot of pressure to apply and hold. I think it's going to be time for a replacement transmission. How many miles on the car and do you have any knowledge of a transmission service in it's lifetime?
