    E39 ZF-320Z trans and accessories

    Hey all;

    pulling parts out of my '98 528i to do an engine and trans swap. Looking to sell the 5spd ZF-320Z trans with short throw kit installed. Will also include the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. Just won't include the shift knob. looking to get $OLD for it all. shipping is extra. Willing to meet if close. post up if interested.

    EDIT: Trans has sold. Clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and short throw kit still available.

    The ZF S5-31 / S5D 310Z / S5D 320Z is an awesome transmission. Some are being used by boosted Miata guys these days.
    Have the shift detention pins/springs/bushings been replaced?

    thanks for that tip. I may join some miata forums to try and sell it.

    I'm not sure what has and has not been replaced. I bought the car as a project. The only thing i know for certain was changed, was that a short throw kit was installed.

    Not sure why my first response didn't post, but below is the gist of what i said.

    Thanks for the tip Bluptgm3, I'll have to join some miata forums to see if i can sell it there.

    as for changes/maintenance, i'm not sure. the only thing i know for sure was done, is the short throw kit that was installed.

    Bit of backstory for the car. I bought it a few weeks ago, with a cracked cylinder head. everything looks to be in great shape (even the cylinder walls still have the cross hatching on them). I only bought the car are a project to swap in an LS and Z32 trans. that's why I'm selling. The trans it's self looks clean from under the car. the shifting feels solid and crisp. nothing feels loose, dragging, or like it needs to be forced. the clutch still feels very firm.

    Typically, the S5D 320Z develops a loose lean toward 5th gear position, or what is commonly called “5th gear lean”. The fix is to replace ALL the detent pins/springs/bushings.

    Trans sold. clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and short throw kit still available as the buyer didn't want any of that.

    also have engine block, and engine accessories available if you need. just comment or PM me.

    well the engine block, all engine accessories, clutch, and pressure plate have been scrapped. Took up too much space, and didn't get any interest. sorry bud.
