Interesting thread, thanks for sharing.
Not to throw stones from a glass house, but a lot of commentary on there is hilarious, talking about how "quick" the shifts are, on a boat car like an E31 or E32...Who cares? Maybe I am bias as I'm still planning on manual swapping my current E32...

My 740 I shifts plenty fine for me it’s a land yacht it’s not meant for roasting tires!!!It never was it’s a cruise at 100+ all day autobahn car once you get it there car . If someone in my opinion is looking for that type of experience there are plenty of other BMW models plenty capable on dumping you back in your seat just not the E32
Haha, for as much hate the 5hp30 gets, it's actually a pretty fantastic transmission for its time (minus being ridiculously heavy). It's smooth, robust, and shifts pretty great if the valve body isn't causing any issues. I liked it most in my E34 which had the AGS adaptive transmission control. It would hold revs in sport mode without upshifting, and the double downshift when stomping that kickdown button on full throttle was a great combo of quick and smooth. Full throttle upshifts were a delight too The worst negative of the 5hp30 is the launch off the line and subsequent acceleration in the lower RPM range of 1st gear; it felt like it was just swallowing up all the power from the engine and throwing it to the wind haha.

This guy is charging 39 USD for a pair but offers Free Worldwide Shipping. Hurray. He's located in Slovakia and I bet there is no carrier in Slovakia that doesn't charge for shipping.
In January 2019 I bought a few at a BMW dealership in Munich for 1.49€ each. Taxes included. These $39 go mostly towards shipping and profit. The part number for the "BMW 7er" plate is 81 85 2 339 704.

Wow, thanks for the info! That price is outrageous.

The question is whether North American dealers can actually get this part.
Also available in this shop: standard BMW badges for 160 USD. Shipping is free, though. And another thing: a used lifting jack for only 180 USD.

A set of 5, (rare in the USA) Style 3s, located in PA. Seller knows what he's got. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...97504038358819
I'm torn between these and other wheels that I can get quality tyres for, like 16" style 5s, or 17" style 20 or 21 (if I could find them).
Happy to let another bimmer fanatic scoop these up if they're going on a 750iL!

I've communicated with that seller he definitely knows what he has with those wheels I was going to take the leap but decided the 6 hour drive wasn't worth it in the end they have been listed a while
I would definitely recommend style 3s. I get so, so many compliments on the car when out and about. People love the pizza dish

I agree I love the look of them but I'm not trying to turn my 740i into a 750il clone so the long drive and that contributed to decision for me not getting them
Don't tempt me! There's no more space for a 6th set of wheels!
Maybe someone can cross post this the 8-series forum. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...5050938854304/

Not a e32 but if your in the northeast definatly a cool car wish I had the money and time to take it on myself https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...55e-5%7D%22%7D
I have no affiliation with the seller but my guess is it’s an employee you go to that parking lot at Fcp and it’s a classic European car paradise everyday of the week and the car is listed in Milford CT !!!! I barely know enough about my E32 to vouch legitimacy for for this car lol hope someone with the knowledge chimes in my mindset is save EM all

I was doing my daily parts search on eBay today and saw these headlights by TYC.
It has some nice "GALSS" lenses...
If the Chinese engineers can't be bothered to write the materials correctly, that doesn't set a good precedent for tolerances, fit and finish. No thanks!

TYC are quality parts though, I understand they are TUV certified per shogun. I have their lenses in my car.
Besides, they are Taiwanese, not Chinese

The TYC headlights have EURO type approval, needed in EURO to pass the bi-annual TUV. TYC is one of the larger aftermarket suppliers from Taiwan. I have a TYC electric aux fan installed since about 10 years, works well, price/quality ratio is ok
