I need some advice on what I should do next, earlier this evening I changed my oil in my 1995 E36 M3 and when I removed my magnetic oil drain screw It had a single valve keeper attached to it.
how hard would it be to replace the valve keeper? I would go ahead and replace all 24 to be safe.
I have all the tools listed here in this camshaft replacement guide. https://blog.fcpeuro.com/how-to-inst...m52-s52-engine

Isn’t there a related issue with 95 M3s — failed retainers? You might want to do more than just the locks. I have always done it with the head off, but you can feed compressed air into the chamber to hold the valve up. Will be a long and laborious process unless you have a special tool that lets you do more than one valve at a time. Such tools exist.
Check www.newtis.info. Enter the last 7 characters of your car’s VIN. Hit enter and bookmark the page. Check the engine section for the procedure and the special tool. You may be able to find the tool in the intertubes.
Yea I think I remember reading about the 95 having an issue. I have this device that lets me do 2 at a time https://farrow.tech/bmw-valve-spring-compressor/
I have all the tools to do the job, just need to get the parts. What parts should I replace exactly? I will replace all keepers and retainers, not sure if I should also replace the springs while im at it. Thoughts?

I'd certainly replace the seals while you're in there.

There's multiple threads on this topic in the 1992 - 1999 M3 (E36) sub-forum such as this one.

There's so many variables to take into account when determining a car's value. Condition, miles, desirability, options, color, on and on. You'll get some sort of idea by following the mentioned sub-forum as well as the BMW Cars For Sale / Wanted sub-forums.

Sorta at a loss here, everything looks good. The piece I found looked like a keeper, it was half shell with ribs. Im thinking maybe the bottom half of one of the keepers broke off.

post a photo of the piece you found.
If you decide to inspect/change the keepers you can also use a bit of cotton rope dropped into the cyl and piston raised to/near TDC as a means to hold the valves from dropping.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
Post a pic of the piece you found. Perhaps someone replaced the keepers as preventative maintenance and lost one in the process. Can you see any signs that the top end has been apart before?
I bought a compression tester so hopefully I can use that to keep the valves up while doing this. Im about half tempted to just pull the head and this point and take it to my dads shop to cook it and rebuild it. Probably be quicker than me doing it this way tbh
