Pressure Testing it could actually pinpoint a crack in the head which would help determine if a replacement should be sourced now or if the existing one is worth even bringing into a machine shop at all. And if pressure testing it won’t determine if it’s a block or a head issue, then how do we know the head wasn’t fine when it was installed? And how much money or time would it cost to pressurize the cooling system, or the crankcase itself? Sorry for making “suggestions”, if it were me I would junk the whole damn car, and start with a better one, but since he’s already sank time and money into that turd, what’s a few minutes of diagnostics going to hurt?
Owning several bmw 2002 which have a similiar layout as your 6 cylinder, one time one of my 2002 engines head was cracked , under the camshaft, where just like yours coolant was mixing with oil , new head was needed, they will also crack near the exhaust side to the water jacket , but in that case no mixing just pressurizing the coolant system and losing coolant, that head on ebay for 400 is the way to go provided its done right seems in expensive to me
she ain't junk. Just having some health issues right now :/
