Vehicle has 64K miles (manual transmission), was running perfectly all these years. A week ago, started hesitating a bit during city driving, then the hesitation got worse. Few days back, started idling very rough at startup. OBD scanner said P0302 cylinder 2 misfire. So I replaced all 6 coil packs and spark plugs with Bosch coils and NGK plugs. Now after starting, it idles even more rough and pretty much wants to stall out. When I pressed the a accelerator a little bit, there was a very strong gas smell. Dashboard EML light is on along with "service engine soon". strangely, the OBD scanner no longer shows any stored codes even though I did not manually clear the P0302 code. I change my oil and air filters very regularly and coolant level is fine. I am all lost as to what is going on here. Any suggestions on what to check or do will be most welcome.
The eml light is the engine malfunction light and has to do with the throttle body, I would check to see if it’s dirty in side
thanks much. will do.
You may also want to replace the intake boots, as well as clean the ICV while in there - hope this helps

With every season change... I clean the throttle body, idel control valve, maf, disa valve and check the rubber boot. Cabin filter and engine filter is vacuumed off. At 200k I'm now looking into cleaning the fuel injectors (I won't clean these every season change) but after removing and inspecting a set and seeing all that gunk doubt that it's ever been done.
For the Oil change...I go up until 7.5 k miles on the Castrol 0w40. Finally also I'm trying to keep with quality gas.
Cheers!
