    Thermostat Replacement on V6 2.5L

I want to change my radiator hose and figured while I was at it I might as well change the thermostat. I am struggling to remove the fan cover as it will not slip over the fan. I did searches but not really able to find anything that clearly shows me how to remove the fan cover. Can you guys help point me to a thread that talks about this? For those of you that have done this, did you have to remove your radiator to have access to the thermostat? Thanks.

To remove the fan shroud, first remove the fan. Don't forget, it's reverse thread, so rightly loosey. However, if you pull the fan, the shroud doesn't have to come out to do the t-stat. Heck, maybe the fan doesn't even have to come out, but I always just remove it because it's so simple to do. I do use one of those fan removal tools, which just locks two bolts on the water pump. Others just put a 32mm wrench on it and give it a whack, but that doesn't always work for me.

Oh, and if you ever call your motor a V6 again...

Also on that engine the thermostat should be integrated into the thermostat housing

Wouldn't thermostat and fan removal procedure depend on who's V6 is installed?

Loosen the fan shroud and unbolt the Fan and pull them up together.
