aftermarket stereo that looks OEM, has cd player and aux jack

I don't have a BMW, but I found this thread asking a question similar to mine.

Basically I want a 1din head unit with a matte black finish, with an aux jack and a cd player. (The other guy wanted bluetooth and/or phone integration which I don't care about).

I've looked at new units and all are shiny and have distracting bright lights, so I think my best bet is to search through models from ~2000-2005 for a unicorn that had an aux jack even though nobody had an iPod back then. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a good way to systematically search through older stereo models? Thanks.

You've forgotten to say which BMW this would be for. Not 'much' choice for OEM looking Single DIN head units, but there's a few.

the unit will be going into a 1995 toyota avalon. posting here because i saw some threads discussing similar things.

i assumed any aftermarket 1 din unit can fit into any 1 din spot, with the right harness.

I know Japanese cars sometimes have/had slightly different head unit setups, most likely a universal Single DIN will fit, but never know. This is a BMW forum, so although there might be some who'll know good suggestions, most perhaps won't. What looks OEM'ish in a BMW for a head unit might not suit in a mid 90's Toyota. I suggest you look on a Toyota specific site and see what others have fitted.
