I posted this note a week ago. I have not heard one answer so perhaps I am asking to do something illegal? We are restoring the BMW2002TI that I won the IMSA Camel GT championship in 1973. We need to create an LLC for the people who are participating in the costs. To create the legal entity the asset has to have some way of identifying it. The car does not have a title or even a VIN plate. We are sure the car is a 1968. Does anyone have an idea where I can find a vin plate and/or title to properly document the car? Here is a photo from 1973.

If the motor is original to the car, the correct VIN will also be engraved on engine block. The VIN will also be stamped on the pass fender (even without a VIN tag there). You may be able to use the engine block VIN, even if it’s not original, as an identifier. The 02 that originally might have had that motor is likely long gone, no?
Maybe you can get additional car details from IMSA? Or BMW NA? Surely they’d have additional info on a championship car?
the VIN is usually stamped on the side of the engine bay, next to a fender. The engine block will also have one. Unfortunately without the VIN the Ti is not a Ti
