Hi guys,
I'm new in here. I have a e87 120i 2005 gasoline that is smoking blue. I took the car to a local garage, they don't know what the problem is but its smoking a lot. They suggested replacing the engine.I don't know what to do because the car did not pass the ITV (MOT) .
These are the numbers of the emissions test:
- 5,66% co2 at idle
- 5,50% co2 at 3000 rpm
- lambda: 0
Thanks,
Nil
I attach the error codes that I've could get from the OBD:
- P0037
- P0057
- P0031
- P0051
- P0160
- P0140
But I'm not mechanic so, I don't know what is the origin or if that have any relation with that smoke.
All those codes are related to the oxygen sensors. A couple of them indicate that the heater circuit in each sensor isn’t working. They have nothing to do with the blue smoke. Blue smoke indicates that the engine is burning oil. Now, is the blue smoke coming out of the exhaust tail pipe or somewhere else? What brand and weight of oil is in the engine? How many kms on the car?
