    Question Replacing run flats.

I picked up a 2017 540i xDrive last month and I'm hating the Conti run flats on it. I'm looking at Goodyear Eagle Exhilarates or Yokohama Advan Sport AS plus. Any advice? Due to rebates, the Goodyears are about $150 less. Performance in rain is a priority. If the suspension was tuned for run flats, is there anything else I need to consider? Thanks and sorry if this belongs in an older thread.

    Go to TireRack.

No, the suspension is not turned to RFTs.

I replaced RFTs in my 14 535i with Michelin A/S 3+ and it was heaven.

Traded it in for a 17 540i M and the Goodyear RFT's on 20 inch wheels are relatively new but a bit choppy on smaller streets - having Michelin PS4 installed in morning.

Both Yoko and GY are not that highly rated -- go for sport and comfort. Michelins are worth it.

I went from Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (excellent tire) to Goodyear Exhilarates. The Pilot Sport 4S lasted only 20,000 miles, but stuck like glue. I went with the Goodyears based on Tire Rack's latest testing. So far, 20,000 miles on the Goodboots and no complaints. Of course, they don't stick as well as the PS 4S, but they wear better and cost less. It seems to be an excellent compromise tire. I drive very hard.

My winter Blizzaks aren't runflats, and when the runflat OEMs wore out (25K!), went with conventional tires. They ride better on our Westsylvania roads, and handle better as well.
