    F30 under seat speaker noise

I have a 2016 F30 with the factory stereo. When I accelerate, there is a static sound the comes from the speaker underneath the passenger seat. Any ideas about what’s going on? Thanks

That speaker is a subwoofer. Check the connections at the amp in the left side of the trunk. Check for water intrusion, also.

Update - I turned off the radio and I am still getting the same static noise from the passenger side subwoofer. Does that make any sense?

The amp in the trunk has power at all times, well as long as the battery is connected. The head unit sends the amp a 12VDC “turn on” signal whenever the head unit is on. It sounds (no pun intended) like the channel in the amp that powers the sub is gone rogue and is inadvertently sending a signal to the sub. I’d disconnect the amp and see if the static goes away. If it doesn’t, disconnection the sub to rule out interference from another source.

Update - I disconnected the amplifier. I then drove around. Still hearing static with acceleration that sounds like it’s coming from under the front passenger seat. I reconnected the amplifier and the disconnected the passenger side subwoofer. I then drove around and heard the same noise. I’m out of ideas now.

You need a Haitian voodoo priestess. Are you sure the noise is coming from the speaker? If it is try disconnecting the speaker connector. If it’s gone then the wiring from the amp to the speaker is picking up noise.
