    Under seat speaker noise

I am getting an intermittent static noise from the speaker underneath my front passenger seat when under acceleration. It is limited to this single speaker. Otherwise, the audio system is functioning normally.

It is a 2016 F30. Any ideas? Thanks

Did you by chance leave a window down, or there happens to be water on the floor?

Water could be shorting out the speaker as it move under acceleration.

Update - I turned off the radio and I am still getting the same static noise from the passenger side subwoofer. Does that make any sense?

If there is a short, then yes it makes sense. The speakers will get power until the car is turned off, for I am sure you have bluetooth connected to your phone? Any you take calls using this?

Update - I disconnected the amplifier. I then drove around. Still hearing static with acceleration that sounds like it’s coming from under the front passenger seat. I reconnected the amplifier and the disconnected the passenger side subwoofer. I then drove around and heard the same noise. I’m out of ideas now.

    Any help is appreciated.

Well the next step will be to go get the codes read from the CCC/Infotainment system. This will require asking a shop to do a full scan of the car to see what is making the modules unhappy.

Update - it was not a speaker noise after all. Apparently, a clip that keeps the parking brake cable away from the driveshaft had broken. The cable was hitting and rubbing against the driveshaft. It sounded like static to me. I made a audio recording of it and then I could tell it was a metallic noise. Clip replaced and problem solved.
