See attached photo. pretty much the whole left side of my car has a stripe of sun damage on the top side. What is the best route for repairing this? Preferably with lasting results. Thanks

Have owned 4 other BWM's I no longer have.
That's probably going to need to be polished. Maybe wet sanded first. If you're not experienced in paint restoration, I would highly recommend against doing that type of repair yourself. You stand a good chance of doing more harm than good.

Ill try giving it a good polish and see how that turns out. If that doesn't clear it up I will see if I can find someone who is experienced in paint repair to take a look at it.

That's a failing clearcoat, you need to have that panel resprayed. No buffing would solve this.
