Hi All,

New to the M5 scene but have been on the forum for years, been waiting on the opportunity to buy a M5 project car for a few years now.

I am currently restoring a 1993 850 with 170 K miles so I like older high mileage bmw's

A friend I have known for 10+ years has been sitting on a 2000 M5 with now 200+K miles on the odometer

I think it is the base model with extended leather but I will have more info soon.

I purchased the car today for $2500 and had it towed to my mechanic.

The M5 has been sitting for 3+ years so it is unfortunately in poor condition.

Paint is ok condition there is three dings one rear passenger, and two on the hood.

Interior is in rough condition and will need some leather repair/replacment on the front seats

I will have pictures of current condition in the next few days

All work will be done by an independent BMW mechanic who is also working on my 850 great guy if anyone needs someone in South Florida let me know

Here is the known items needed:

Replace Expansion tank

Replace a few coil packs

Replace Valve cover gaskets

Drop Fuel Tank and clean

Replace Fuel Pumps / Sender

Replace front and rear wheel bearings / rotors / brake pads

Replace all fluids brake, differential, transmission, cooling system

Replace one or more window regulators

Replace Front and Rear bumper covers

Refinish original rims

Inspect Suspension Front and Rear

Inspect Cooling System

Inspect Rod Bearings

Inspect Vanos

Inspect Chain and guides

It will be about a month before work get's started as my mechanic is in the middle of a full teardown on the 850
