The regulator is inside the DME IIRC, perhaps you are thinking about the bushes for the Alternator?

If the alternator is bad, just get a replacement. But like I said, you need to do more testing and confirm what’s bad and what’s not. Do you have a multimeter? A cheap one can be bought for about 15 or 20 bucks. You’d be surprised at how much you end up using it.

I checked the battery with a multimeter and it read 1.2 with the car off....I jumped it and it read 13.5

My mechanic said the alternator was not operating properly under load.
