Hello,
today all of a sudden the engine started to make this noise.
https://youtu.be/Tn8_67sBQjo
Can it be related to serpentine belts ? Sometimes the noise is noticeable some other time no noise at all.
I Am concerned because this weekend I am into a 500mi trip...
Any comment appreciated.
Thanks
Hi, the noise sounds similar to a noise I had on my 735iL. I replaced the water pump and now it's quiet. My car had the original water pump from 1991 so it was just worn. Hear the sound here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2gHH6kCjcY

you are right it could be. Anyway I have this trip to do... better not to risk ? what do you think ?
does not sound too dangerous. Ever replaced the belts? In cold weather climates, a serpentine belt may squeal on unusually cold days. This is because the belt is stiff and brittle. Often, though, the squealing stops after its had time to warm up.
if the belt is worn out like this one, then better replace it when you have time https://oards.com/serpentine-belt-squeal/ the ribs of the belt getting worn out. This will cause it to move poorly over the pulleys, creating all kinds of noises.
