    Max Whp a stock n52 differential handle?!?!???

    Whats the max whp that a n52 e90 stock differential can handle.
    On all 320-323-325-328-330
    I couldnt find the answer for any except the 335i.
    Anyone shed the light on me

    I think the number you're looking for is the max torque it can handle, not necessarily the max horsepower. Those are different things, as I'm sure you know.

    I'd like to guess and say that it's plenty strong enough to handle anything a naturally aspirated N52 can throw at it. What exactly are you planning? Boosting an N52? Or swapping the diff into something else that makes more power?

    Im jus wondering if it would be able to hold ls1 specs. On the stock differential one of my friends was saying my shit would snap if i jus slap the ls1 in there

    I think it depends on how you drive it. 4K rpm launches? Probably gonna blow it to pieces. Drive normally with the occasion WOT blast, it might be ok for awhile.

    But aside from that, there are plenty of other BMW differentials that are more than capable of handling LS1 power.

    The Forced Induction section is a great place. Those guys are very familiar with what diffs to use for serious torque. If I had to guess, something from a can equipped with a V8. Or maybe a 335 diff would work just fine. A lot of those cars are pushing well over 400 lb/ft.

    I'd suggest that the stock differential of a 335i can handle 400 lb/ft torque no problem.

    I have over 500WHP and well over 500 lb/ft torque and expect my diff to be the last issue.
    This opinion is based on 1000's of drivers on tuning forums running at least 400+ and this not being a subject.
    You'll snap the 335i drive axles well before diff issues (statistically).

    As the wise man above said, if you drop the clutch (or equiv), stuff can snap.
    I launch hard in my auto, daily (very respectfully) and easily run 3.95s to 60mph. All drive train hardware is stock.
    I expect Turbo failure and Axles first. Car runs very well still though, at over 200,000 KM (I attempt to maintain is well, myself, which much help from those here and elsewhere)
