    What is this thing?

I am buttoning up the front end of my Z3 after a PS hose refresh.

There is this yellow connector dangling loose by its wires and normally hidden by the splash shield behind the radiator.

Anyone know what it is and should it be secured somewhere?

The photo is from the ground looking up.IMG_0977.jpg

    Thank you.

It plugs into a hole in the upper passenger side of the bumper cover grill on the non-m cars.

It provides air temperature to the on board computer display in the clock, controlled by pushing the end of the left stalk.
It pokes its tip through a hole in the black plastic fascia beside the driver side fog light.
How it is mounted, I have not looked.

I think it also controls the heated windshield washer ports and possibly the heated mirrors

I believe you are correct good sir. I can take a look at the schematics manual later and verify.

Thank you. Was able to find the port in the grill and secure it properly.
