I have a 2002 z3 with 2.5. The car start fine. It has Radom back fire in the intake and rough idle. Runs out good lots of power. I have changed the plugs tested coils tested the Disa and it’s working no leaks. I did a smoke test no leaks. I am stumped at this point.

Would be worth testing the cam and crank position sensors too.

Try clearing the codes, then unplug the mass airflow sensor, and go for a drive. Do the misfire codes recur?
This will help to know whether you're dealing with a fuel mixture issue or not.

I had not read this. I will try tonight.
I had replaced the MAS as it was a aftermarket one and when I unplug it the car did not miss. But the new one does the same thing. Its OEM one and New. I will try the drive unplugged today.
What brand is the new MAF?
Check fuel pressure

Do misfire codes recur when MAF is unplugged?
