I've got a 99 E46 323i with the old school 3 button key...the "tear drop" shaped one.
1. What is the hrz range of this? How do I find it.
2. Will the "diamond" key (4 button?) Work for this car? I know I'll need to get it cut & programmed to the car.

I would see about giving this guy a call or send him an email: www.bmwgm5.com
He is the guru on the keys/locks on the E-46.

If the car does not have factory navigation the frequency is 315mhz. If the car has factory navigation the frequency is 433mhz. I don’t know if the fob from the later E46s will work.
