Advice on buying 1990 325i e30 convertible

Thoughts on this sell? Without seeing the car, was able to talk him down to $6000. Going to check it out today, and eventually have a mechanic take a look. Maybe even try to negotiate him down to $5500.

Seems like in pretty good shape. If no rust nor serious accidents, I think it is well worth it, but that might depend on the location.
I hate to say it but I just overpaid ($7,200) in a 1989 325iC and later found rust inside the trunk that I missed when inspecting. I will likely spend another couple of thousands to fix that.
So, remove the trunk carpets (including the ones covering the inner wheel arches) to check for rust at the trunk floor to wheel arch welds.
