    1994 BMW 525i

    ODBII Scanning

    I have a Foseal ODB2 scanner and BMW E34 port connector to ODB2 connection (pictures attached). What protocol settings are needed to read the codes generated by my 1994 525i?

    ISO-9141 is k-line and L-line, but if the tool can talk to both, that's unknown.

    Your car uses "L-line" or sometimes called ADS to communicate engine codes.
    I would search for the "stomp test" instead.
