We got the software all installed and working.
He needs to order a new K+DCAN cable as his had a flakey car connection and it doesn’t have the built-in switch.
Also showed him how to get set up with the OBD Fusion app for diagnosing engine running issues.

Update: BaliDawg got me up and running. I had to run INPA to run the ABS motor to get the air out of the lines. I also bought cheap O2 sensors and the engine was running rough at idle. BaliDawg noticed the voltage on the O2 sensors and so I went and bought bosch and the problem was solved.
Now, the transmission is slipping like crazy, in fact, it barely will go forward. Reverse works well. I'll top it off with fluid tomorrow.
