I have a 93 325I convertible, its a 2.5 liter not the 2.7. Im getting it back on the road after 8 years. Its got 120k on it and ran well when it was parked. As of now it has new timing belt, water pump, tensioner, belts, hoses, water pump, the brakes have been gone though, and I'm half way through installing the new gas tank and 255lph fuel pump. All the fluids are changed.
When I parked the car it needed a tune up, who is a good vendor for cap, rotor, and wires? I remember them being ridiculously expensive.
The front struts were shot, are the KYB's a decent replacement? Its going to be a nice daily driver no motor cross or anything like that
I remember adjusting the rocker arms and the eccentrics were a little worn and I had to either leave them a little loose or a little tight so I opted for loose. Can they be replaced in the car?
Last thing is, I remember this car handling great but being very boring and slow. Without going to crazy what can be done for a little more power around town. Im not as interested in big numbers as I am seat of pants gains. I talked to a specialist when I was picking up parts. He recommended a pair of Stainless long tube headers and a chip to kind of just wake it up a little bit. I was considering that and then I saw the mass air flow conversion from Miller does anyone have any experience using it with headers and maybe a cold air intake?

If i remember right, cap, wire, and stuff is still fairly expensive.
Kybs are fine for normal daily and some fun driving.
I dont know about replacing rockers on car. For some reason i think i remember reading you have to pull the radiator if you want to do rockers on car.
I guess your car is an automatic? You can do a chip and see how it feels. We put headers on my son's car and he didnt mention feeling any quicker so i have no idea. As a matter of fact, they are on the floor in the garage now so i guess he didnt like them
Chip and new shocks/springs with a nice set of tires is a great start!
As for ignition parts, cap, rotor, wires I'd use Bosch or Bremi. Don't assume the wires need replacement. A quality set will last a very long time. Plugs would be NGK ZGR5A.
