Hi guys, just an observation here. Coming from the world of Mercedes since selling my last BMW, an e34 540i in 2007, and being able to readily find information pertaining to cars that i have owned on those benz forums and being able to also easily find parts as well, I am a little frustrated to come back over to the world of BMW to find out that some parts are hard, if not impossible to find, and the search for information to do anything is either lacking or the links are now long dead. I was especially surprised to find out that road fly was no longer up and running, which years ago was the holy grail of bimmer info. Has anyone ever used "the way back machine" website to tap into old saved forum webpages that would have contained troves of information and other useful stuff? Thanks - Mike
We use other sources. As an E28er we left the roach en masse because they sucked and mye28 was formed. I spent a lot of time on bimmerboard's e23 site for a number of years and reluctantly came here. The info is out there just need to know where to look. and it ain't the roach.
The systems are largely similar to the e28/24 platform. Yes Parts are difficult to find these days - No way around it. These are rare cars and very few are still on the roads. Get a Bentley or similar repair manual!
When your enemy is making a mistake, do not interrupt him.
You can read all about the 745i E23 on my old website. Engine building, ECU Electronics, etc.
I will eventually put this info on my new website as I get more stuff developed.
Yes the 4 gauge console is still available today
