I will entertain aluminium. However, still very happy with the steel variant (if the aluminium doesn’t come off).

My current brace is a Racing Dynamics. It is a three pce product that is assembled with two ‘pins’ (cap head bolts) to arrest the separation of the towers. I have never liked the way that the plates are flat and the tower tops have some ribbing. The flat plates sit on these ribs and risk damaging the surface. Might this strut’s tower mounts conform to the tower’s top surface? I’d be interested to know if people use a gasket of some sort to eliminate potential rubbing between the towers and the strut plates.

A gasket to minimize rubbing will prevent proper flush mounting of the strut, allowing the bolts movement. Over time this will shear the bolts or worse, damage the strut tower itself

There is a stock paper gasket spec'd as stock, its thin. Just use those.
White is Right, Steel Grey is OK, but Estoril is the only color that truly matters.

I've made a deal on an E90 M3 to replace my 335d as daily driver and likely going to need to do rod bearings on it, so I'd prefer to bow out of my spot #17 & let the next in line move up. Enjoy the braces, guys. Happy Thanksgiving.

I have this in my car already and have been told that it doesn't clear the S54.

Looks like the same design but info on the page says it does not fit Z3.

As Brent mentioned earlier, the Z3 bar is very similar to the normal E36 bar, but the bar stock goes through a roller to flatten it slightly, so it fits under the Z3 hood

It should fit the S54. Pretty sure dimensionally its the same as the one in this group buy just the Z3 ones have flattened "oval" bars instead of round

This is not the same bar, its much deeper in the middle, and it won't fit the Z3. Milla has one and we were comparing the two.

The Z3 bar will fit the S54 M Coupe because it clears the vent hose nicely, and it will probably fit any other E36s as well.

This is why I'm here! Need to ensure it will clear the S54.

If this is still going on, I'm in for one.

BTW, you don't need to ship it down to Florida and then back up to me- I can pick mine up at Rogue's facility- they're about 80 miles away.

Ben found one on a totaled car and sent me a pic saying it was mine as a joke. So that means there are 2 more other than yours and mine.

Everything ships from Ben's place. I don't have a monetary stake in anything.

So are we good- updated list?

What is the timetable now? We pay Rogue Engineering directly, I take it?

Or maybe not... I think mine is technically a Mason... I can't tell the difference.

I emailed Ben at Rogue yesterday about a diff cover and mentioned the strut brace. He said they still not completed yet.

Mine has an RE sticker on it. From memory it does look very much the same apart from that though.

Yea I remember something or another that RE and Mason worked hand in hand years ago. I'm not sure if RE rebranded Mason or Mason rebranded RE back in the day. Maybe I'm making it up, I don't have the inside track with RE that it seems Brent has. I can't tell the difference and I'm not worried about an RE sticker.

We are making 25 for sure. Those will go on a first come first serve basis, but we will probably have a few people drop out.

If there are more buyers beyond the initial 25 it would be an additional lead time of several months at least.

Mason made a total of 5 braces for RE. Those have the sticker.

The mason bar came plain steel and wasn't powder coated.

You can still get the mason bar on their website, assuming they don't tell you no after you order it.

I see thanks for the info, I just jumped on that one when it came up for sale without knowing too much about it, since I have a very similar bar on my e46 m3 from RE and was happy with that. When I visited them a couple years ago they didn't seem to have much in-house manufacturing capabilities so I'm assuming Mason makes all the bar variations for them?

That's what I'm asking- who is keeping the list?
