    Radio setup

Hey guys, just a quick question for those in the know. I've tried to search but can't see it covered.

Would it be hard for someone to replace the 6 stack cd player in the boot of my 7 series, with a bluetooth head unit? So that I can use the CD function of the genuine radio to connect to bluetooth and keep the factory look?

    Hi,

If you must keep the OEM modules working/in use for the reason of keeping OEM looks in the dash, then the very best solution nowadays is the recently developed Bluebus product. https://www.bluebus.dev/

It's been designed and developed by an owner enthusiast so production is done in batches over the course of a few months so you'll need to add your name to be included in the next production batch.

Look also at ECS tuning who are resellers - https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bluebus-.../bluebus1~blu/

In the E38 section of this forum, one member has gone for an Alpine iLX-W650 (also $300 price level) with an OEM look fascia/fitting kit that needs a bit of modification to fit into an E38. You'll recognise the supplier of the fascia on the thread !

    https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...ghlight=NXG-39

This option gives you the OEM look you'd like to retain and also provides a up to the minute, reliable, high quality head unit with the latest features and functions like Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, full Bluetooth handsfree phone calls and Audio Streaming and a whole host of other features the OEM setup doesn't have.

    Cheers, Dennis!
