I got a hold of an old e30 323i, pulled out the harness and other parts off the engine head+block, started looking at wiring diagrams and online pictures, but could not figure out the following parts, what they are and what they are there for...
First part... attached to wiring...

Second part... ?, ?, and ?

Any lead would help. Thanks.
no idea from me. I have never seen an e30 323
No e30s again.
I'll hazard a guess you have a Jetronic system. Is your distributor on the side of the engine or is the cap at the top front?

Most of the users on this board are US and only our early 4 cylinder 318i uses L-Jet. There are some European and other region members that should chime in eventually.

The first part with the green wire plugs into your distributor. But the connection it plugs into is already attached! So someone must have pulled it off, and broken the plastic socket off the distributor with it. Hopefully even broken it can connects back into the distributor.
If you are planning on keeping the Jetronic on this engine, look up the 'E30 323i resource' post, as a couple of us mapped out the vacuum pipes layout for this car.
Found it! The second unknown part is a vacuum valve that is part of the e30 320i system (see realoem/bmwfans info below), which is part of the 323i also apparently.

man, there is a lot of stuff on that vacuum system for the distributor. what a mess
No e30s again.
Good job hunting down that detail!
I actually never seen that detail before.
We here in Sweden got another version of that vacuum valve instead which I had on my E30 323i -85.
It was an electrically controlled valve (opens over 65km/h or 4th/5th gear and allwo vaccum to one of the distributor vacuum ports and advances the ignition) - it's #18 in the diagram below.

Man, these vaccum horror stories from the 70's and 80's :-)
