What is the outer diameter of the sleeve? I was thinking of using something like this for e39 and e53
Orion Motor Tech OMT Wheel Bearing Press Kit for Front Wheel Drive Bearing Removal & Installation, 24pc Wheel Bearing Puller Tool Set with Sliding Screws Universal Bushings Sleeves Storage Case https://a.co/d/5h96iD6
I don't have the tool with me now to measure that diameter, but that's just not what this tool looks like at all. You can certainly try it and with a bit of clever arrangement, folks have definitely done this. There's no dimensions you cannot measure from your own car.

Hello,
Is this tool available for rent?
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Neil,
Interested in renting the tool/being added to waitlist. This is my first time on the forum and couldn't find a way to PM you.
Anyways, let me know when it's next available, and really appreciate this service!
Thanks,
Antoine
Antoine,
The tool is currently available and ready to ship right away.
I think there's a minimum number of posts you must make before you can PM, but I'm not sure exactly how the rules work. You can email me at (redacted). Once I get an email from you, I will adjust this post to take that out.

Great, thank you! Just sent an email and now I'm one message closer to PMs..
Adding kudos to Neil and the tool. Made the job a snap.

I went for Powerflex yellow polyurethane bushings to replace my cracked ~100K OEM 20-year old rubber bushings. No more NVH and the rear end doesn't step out anymore! Really solidified the handling. Makes my touring feel like a sedan. 10/10
Hi Neil,
If your tool is available I would like to rent it.
Thank you,
Sam
Sam, I PM'd you a few days ago, but haven't heard back. The tool is currently available. Feel free to PM me your email address if notifications from this site aren't working well. If you post your email address here, just please be aware you'll be a target for scammers who will request you to send them money by PayPal pretending to me. See the first post in this thread for a heads up about protecting yourself from that.

How much would the shipping be to Canada? For example calgary?
So far I found the cheapest tool here.
Not sure if it's more expensive to rent or buy.

I only recently tried shipping to a Canadian renter, and it didn't go well. It cost me about $125 to ship it to him, and he had to pay $50 to accept delivery as a customs fee. I think he was trying something to get that back when he "exported" it back out of the country, but I don't know if that happened. Also, the shipping was quite slow.
Anyway, my usual terms (within the US) are to ask for a $250 deposit, and then I refund $200 after the tool comes back.
For Canada, I can do it for a $350 deposit, and but I'll still only refund $200 upon return.

I would like to rent your bushing removal tool. Is it still available?
Hey Neil,
I'm interested in renting the tool whenever it's available. Thanks.
That's so odd, I'm wondering if my profile is too new. I'm still interested and can be reached at default2this@gmail.com. Thank you.

I was just able to PM you, so maybe you fixed it? I did not email you. I'd remove your email address from here. If you got any emails claiming to be from me, then please don't trust them. You can see the first post for how some folks have nearly gotten scammed because of that.
