Just wondering if any of you get rid of the heater control valve. I know some cars use them and some don’t.
Not too sure how bad having the heater core warm all the time would be if the blower diverted in the cooling position.
I did a roadtrip in our 97 M3 with no heater control valve...it was excessively warm inside as you couldn't turn the heat down enough. This was in the December timeframe in the midwest too. I will be reinstalling (or bypassing the core altogether) next time.
That’s all I needed to know haha. I’ll keep it in. I guess if the door that blocks the core off isn’t super tight the heat will get past.
I'm probably going to delete my core for now. It isn't a DD. The only downside I can see is I can't use it for emergency heat removal in case it gets hot.
