For the record, the car is not for sale for $5k. I would like $10k for it and was looking for opinions. When I'm ready, I will post the car with pics with a price and see what happens.

Honestly I would say somewhere between 5-10k. I'm no expert on value but seems like a solid car however nothing over the top. No cage, stock brakes, no subframe/diff bushings, stock sway bars, and mostly new stock parts. Upgraded radiator or WP? This is good for someone looking for a well rounded M3 or a good start for a dedicated track car.

    Again just my 2 cents

Needs pics. If these guys are saying 5k, ship it to CA and sell for 10k. I see M3s with half that build sheet do 6k all the time.

    Gents,

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate your opinions. I can part the car out locally for $7-8k. If I could get 9-10, I'd sell it whole. Otherwise I have enough locate E36 degenerates that there will be limited parts left after they get done... Just trying to decide what to do....

It has been a fun, reliable car, but as stated above, it is not a high end build.

I by no means am saying it's worth $5k but with the market and people looking for these cars (no offense, younger drift/stance kids) they do not want to pay for it. I personally bought a cheaper M3 and ended up putting way more into it than what I paid. People don't see that initially when buying

They are great track cars and this would be the perfect car for someone looking to get into it. Still intact enough to daily and drive it to the track, yet upgraded enough where it counts.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Funny and very true. Between the rebuilt diff, rebuilt motor, seats, harnesses, wheels, tires, race pads, suspension, and the car itself, My ‘investment’ is closer to $20k than to $10k. Buying a built car is way cheaper than building a car

at this point, I have committed buyers for car parts that add up to $8k already so I suspect that is the way it will go.

I would be interested on the bottom end of your target potentially. I am looking to get into racing and rather than muck up one of our m3's (specifically our e36) I would prepare one underway. You can send me an email rycase at gmail dot.com

Sage advice. I have taken a deposit on the complete car. If that falls through, I will do exactly as you suggest. Thanks
