    94 E36

    High RPM No Acceleration

    1994 E36 Sedan M50 Automatic. Car revs high with no acceleration did this before last time I disconnected the battery which fixed it. This time I replaced the check engine bulb and got o2 sensor code replaced this and problem still exist. Does anyone kno what the issue is? Thanks

    Does the gear shift really? One thing is the shift lever at the center console, the other thing is the cable from there to the side of the transmission, maybe it broke or slipped?

    If that does not help, then maybe the manual shift valve inside the valve body is broken, this is an example from an E36 with ZF 5hP18.
    And did you check the transmission fluid level?

    And did you check the transmission fluid level?
    Yes I changed fluids in both pans

    Can you feel it shift but it has very annemic acceleration? If so it may be a bad torque converter.

    I can feel it catch for a second then it goes back to high rpm with slow to no acceleration at all jst revs

    Have you changed the filter? You may have blockages in your valve body.
